RCIA

Have you ever given thought to helping another person find the gift of the Catholic Faith?

Let's start with the RCIA,  or as we also know it, Catholic Inquiry.  The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) provides a journey in faith to help people learn and understand the richness of the Catholic faith tradition. Our team is well-equipped and willing to guide anyone along this journey.  If a candidate desires,  he or she will have the opportunity to become a Catholic.  Or, perhaps a person was baptized in our Catholic Church but never learned the faith; we will help them in the process of  becoming members in full communion with the Catholic Church.  We also have additional classes for Neophytes (new Catholics) to help them in their new-found faith.  We discuss topics from the history of  Christianity to the lives of the Saints and much, much more.

This ministry provides volunteering opportunities in two areas:

1) for those who feel called to bring the Word of God to the candidates by becoming a team member

2) for those who feel drawn to share that journey with a candidate in a very special way by being a sponsor for them.

There are many spiritual rewards associated with both of these jobs.

Our classes will begin in September and end on the Vigil of Pentecost.  We meet on a weekly basis on Mondays at 7:00 pm in the social hall.

The only requirement to join our ministry is that you are a practicing Catholic and have a love for the faith that you wish to share with others.  No special training is needed.
